During my spring semester at North Shore Community College I was able to meet some incredible people and network with some of my professors.

After enrolling in my microeconomics and macroeconomics I learned that my professor for both courses was Moonsu Han and he consistently kept me engaged and interested in my courses. Moonsu was able to introduce me to the Dokdo History Essay Contest and he encouraged me to learn more about the island and to participate in the contest.

After doing my research I was able to learn more about where Dokdo was, the history of Dokdo, and why it rightfully belongs to South Korea. Participating in this contest has allowed me to learn more about an important piece of Korean history and why the island of Dokdo is so significant to South Korea.

The South Korean people take great pride in protecting and maintaining the island and Dokdo is close to their hearts. This contest has allowed me to meet amazing people and I am honored to have met the members involved in the Korean American Community of New England. I am so grateful to have been chosen as a winner for this contest.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make this contest possible and for giving me the opportunity to partake in it.
